Our new Williamsburg Northside Summer Program for 2013!!
Williamsburg Northside Preschool's Enrollment Process

Welcome to Williamsburg Northside! We look forward to sharing our school community with you and supporting you through our application process. Our admissions are on a first-come, first –served basis with priority given to currently enrolled children and their siblings. The Williamsburg Northside Preschool contract is based on a September to June school year. We do not interview or test applicants. Instead, we explain our policies and the Reggio Emilia philosophy thoughtfully and allow parents to decide whether WNP is the right fit for their family.
Applications
Applications for WNP should be submitted at the preschool, located at 152 N 5th Street (between Bedford and Driggs). There is a one-time non-refundable application fee of $60 required. Click on the link below to download an application for enrollment at WNP for the current school year or for the upcoming school year. We will continue to accept applications for the current school year (when space is available) until February 1st.
Schedule options and tuition information are listed on the application. Submitted applications are listed in order of the date they are received. Because spots are offered following this order space cannot be guaranteed without a complete application on file. Families on the waiting list are called and/or emailed regarding availability, assuming age and schedule matches.
Applications for the upcoming school year will be available on September 1st. For example, applications for the 12-13 school year will be available September 1st 2011. Although we will continue to accept applications throughout the current school year for the upcoming school year, applications received between September and December typically have a better status for enrollment. Applications are not carried over from one year to the next and must be updated.
Tours
We strongly encourage families to attend an Open House or small group tour. Open House and small group tour dates are posted on the website and updated monthly. Open Houses are typically scheduled September through December and small group tours will continue on through the winter and spring months. Private tours are offered to families who have been accepted but have not yet had an opportunity to view the facility. When touring families we'll have the opportunity to observe the current children and teachers in the classroom, ask questions, and observe related project work materials. Due to space constraints and as a courtesy to all families attending our tours, our tours are for adults only. We ask all families to make alternate child care arrangements. Our small group tours and open house events typically last no longer than 45 minutes. We ask all attendees to RSVP with the total number of adults attending.
Acceptance Notification
We observe the ISAAGNY Dates for notifying families about admission into the program. Fall Enrollment: Acceptance notifications for the school year beginning in September will be sent home to new families in February. They will be due back in March. The deposit for enrollment is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. The deposit is followed by three scheduled subsequent payments for the annual tuition.
Following Enrollment
Registration – Registration forms for the upcoming school year will be emailed to families in the spring for the following school year. All registration forms must be completed and returned prior to orientation.
Orientation – new parents will be invited to an orientation meeting to become more familiar with WNP's policies in June/July
Play dates – the administration will send families a list of the children enrolled in their child's class so that parents can begin to set up play dates in August and children can begin to form friendships before they enter school.
Classroom Placement: Your child's placement will generally be based on their date of birth, schedule (5 days, 3 days and 2 days), the ratio of girls to boys, and requests to keep classmates together from one year to the next. There are occasions however, when the administration may make a decision to make changes in classroom placement based on the developmental needs of the children and/or the ages of children enrolled.
Returning Students
Families are guaranteed placement from year to year provided they submit a re-registration form in late fall. These re-registration forms will provide an opportunity for families to request preferred schedules for the following school year.
