Elementary School
Williamsburg Northside's Elementary School is a K-5 program located in the vibrant Brooklyn Neighborhood of Williamsburg. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, we are committed to offering a school age experience that views each and every child as a strong, capable and powerful individual who is an active participant in their learning. Each child comes to the learning environment with thoughts, ideas and questions on which to build upon and develop. We strive to create a community in which all children feel safe, secure and supported to share, explore, question, falter when necessary, think critically and create.
Our students' day begins at 8:30 and finishes at 3:00. Throughout the week children are engaged in a variety of enrichment classes including, but not limited to Studio Art, Library, Music, Physical Education, Science, and Spanish in compliment to the explorations in the classroom. We host an after school program to meet the needs of our families as well.
We are growing enthusiastically, but also slowly and mindfully by adding only one class per year. Beginning in 2009 we had our first Kindergarten students and in the upcoming 2011-2012 school year we will have classrooms for Kindergarten through Second Grade.
