Our new Williamsburg Northside curriculum guide 2012-2013!

Our new Williamsburg Northside Summer Program for 2013!!
Preschool

Williamsburg Northside Preschool is dedicated to providing quality care and education to children ages 2-4 years old. We aim to build strong partnerships between families, children, and school in order to provide each child a positive, joyful, and nurturing school experience.
Our program, like all Northside programs, is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education and values each child's individuality. It is their interests, ideas, questions, and prior experiences that provide the inspiration for classroom projects. Through both child directed and teacher facilitated activities, children are given the opportunity to fully explore the world around them. A multi-sensory approach is used in order to meet the varying learning styles and developmental needs of each child. Children will engage with and express themselves through a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, paint, clay, collage, music, dance, storytelling, blocks, natural materials, and recycled materials.
Each class will take weekly visits to the music room and art studio to work with specialists in these areas, as well as have daily visits to either our indoor or outdoor play spaces. The school day begins at 8:30 and ends at 3:00. Families who need a longer school day will also have the option of enrolling their child in our afterschool program up to four days a week (Monday-Thursday) until 4:30. Our school year begins in September and ends in June, with optional summer programming.
